Bryce A Young is a wildfire risk model developer focused on the technology and mitigation systems needed to reduce wildfire risk to homes and communities.
From 2013 to 2018, Bryce served as a wildland firefighter with the Idaho Department of Lands and the U.S. Forest Service. He later ran Bole & Acre, implementing defensible space and fuel treatments for landowners and communities.
This experience exposed the practical challenge of fire risk management.
Having identified this challenge, he went on to earn a Master’s in Forestry at the University of Montana. His research examined and developed tech-based solutions to wildfire risk modeling in the wildland-urban interface, leading to his current position at Pyrologix, a Vibrant Planet Company.
